Almost 70% of Americans Disapprove of Biden’s Border Handling While the Administration’s Declaration Makes Little Impact
In a move driven more by polls than policy, Biden’s executive order accomplishes nothing but talk on immigration.

After over three years in the Oval Office, President Joe Biden issued an executive order on Tuesday purporting to take decisive action resolving the illegal immigration crisis on the southern border.

Close to 70% of Americans disapprove of the Biden Administration’s handling of the border and the unserious order will takes no positive action, but does transfer significant administrative power to the impeached Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Not only is Mayorkas named the arbiter of what qualifies the border as “overwhelmed,” he is given sweeping powers to grant exceptions to asylum rules using “operational considerations,” to permit nearly any illegal border crossing.

For three years, DHS has had the power to enforce existing immigration law, but has avoided this responsibility through the combination of limited patrol enforcement and an unprecedented release and parole of millions of aliens, including many who have commit crimes while in the country.

No amount of sleight of hand can obscure the more than 10 million have entered the United States through the Southern Border during the Biden administration’s watch. Republicans in Congress have attempted to bring forward bi-partisan reform, but Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) continues to block any meaningful action.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) called the bill an election-year stunt that won’t distract voters from Joe Biden’s disastrous, failed immigration policies.” There are executive actions that could work to solve the immigration crisis, but the Biden administration refuses to take such steps. Until then, Americans are left facing an invasion.
