Columbus Liquor Store Employee Arrested in Fatal Stabbing
A deadly altercation at a Columbus liquor store led to the arrest of a 24-year-old employee on multiple charges.

A Columbus liquor store employee has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred Monday night.

James Applewhite, 24, is facing charges of murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The charges stem from the death of 28-year-old Quandarius Reynolds.

Authorities reported that the incident unfolded shortly before 7:30 p.m. at Kick N Chicken, a liquor store located at 5120 Warm Springs Road. Applewhite and Reynolds were allegedly involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, Applewhite is accused of using a knife to stab Reynolds.

Reynolds reportedly left the liquor store and was found at a nearby business with a stab wound. Emergency responders transported him to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
