The Little Free Library in Jailhouse Park, located in Byron, recently opened its doors. It is one of five such libraries that exist in Peach County. This no-cost literary resource exists to serve the community by promoting literacy across all age groups.
Cherie Giles, who is a Library Steward associated with Little Free Library, explained that this no cost library plays a vital role by encouraging literacy for people of all ages. Providing access to books and learning materials free of cost makes these resources accessible to everyone in the community – helping to elevate educational standards.
Just like the other four in Peach County, the Jailhouse Park Little Free Library aims to foster a love for reading, reducing literacy-related challenges in the community. The establishment of such libraries highlights the city’s commitment towards uplifting literacy levels among its residents.
