Long County Pedestrian Death Case Still Awaits Update
After a pedestrian was fatally struck by an SUV in Long County late last month, authorities investigating the tragic incident have yet to give an update.

A pedestrian was killed in Long County after being struck by an SUV late last month. The incident occurred on State Route 57 around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, October 23rd, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was walking in the northbound lane at the time of the collision. Authorities reported that the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

As of mid-November, no charges have been filed, and the Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Officials are reminding drivers to remain vigilant, particularly during low-visibility hours, and are urging pedestrians to use crosswalks and wear visible clothing when walking near roadways.
