Macon-Bibb Transit Authority Announces Free Fare Days for the Holidays
Public transit services in Macon-Bibb County will offer free rides on select days to spread holiday cheer.

The Macon-Bibb Transit Authority (MTA) will provide free bus rides on December 21st, December 23rd, and December 24th, offering residents an opportunity to travel at no cost during the holiday season.

Regular service schedules will remain in effect on December 21st and December 23rd. On December 24th, bus routes will operate from 5:20 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with specific schedule adjustments for final trips. Routes including Log Cabin/North Napier, North Bibb/River Crossing, and Shurling/Walmart will depart from the Terminal Station for their last journey at 2:20 p.m. All other routes will leave at 2:55 p.m., and the Transfer Station will close at the same time.

No transit services will be available on December 25th, as all routes will be closed for Christmas Day. Regular operations will resume on December 26th.

MTA representatives have shared that the free fare initiative is aimed at adding joy to the holiday season for residents.
