The much-anticipated film, “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot,” is set to premier nationwide tomorrow. Filmed in downtown Macon, the movie centers on a rural community adopting nearly 80 children . Its narrative, rooted in life’s truth and struggle in a rural Texan setting, adds authenticity to the film.
The film’s producers chose Macon due to its resemblance to Possum Trot, East Texas. The city provided numerous locations for filming and served as the central hub for the entire production, including housing the crew, casting calls, and costume preparations. The city of Macon served as more than a screening avenue – local residents participated as both cast and crew.
