Torrez Finney Signing UFC Contract in Macon Today
Jones County alum makes his UFC signing official after securing 10th consecutive victory.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight fighter and Macon native Torrez “The Punisher” Finney will officially sign his new contract this afternoon at the Tubman Museum in Macon. The Jones County High School graduate will celebrate the milestone in front of his hometown of Macon following a decisive 10th straight win in Las Vegas earlier this week.

Finney’s journey to mixed martial arts was unconventional. He initially excelled in football, leading in sacks and tackles as a defensive lineman, and earning top honors as the state’s best defensive lineman. His success extended beyond the football field, as Finney also dominated in wrestling, winning back-to-back state championships and earning national recognition.

Despite a football scholarship to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), Finney’s wrestling talents remained prominent. However, after suffering two ACL injuries, his football career took a backseat, and he began exploring combat sports while recovering. His passion for MMA emerged through training in boxing and jiu-jitsu, leading him to pursue a career in the sport in 2019.

Finney’s signing marks a major milestone in his MMA career, as he continues to rise through the UFC ranks with his undefeated streak.
