Valdosta Lifts Emergency Curfew Following Storm Recovery
City officials urge caution as normal activities resume, with some areas still in recovery.

The City of Valdosta has officially lifted the emergency curfew that had been in place to protect residents and essential workers after recent storms. The curfew, which restricted movement between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM, is no longer in effect.

According to city officials, the curfew played a vital role in ensuring public safety and helping crews restore power and clear blocked roads. While significant progress has been made, Valdosta residents are advised to continue exercising caution, as some roads remain hazardous and power restoration efforts are ongoing in parts of the city.

Valdosta Police Chief Leslie Manahan thanked the community for their patience, stating that the curfew allowed workers to make substantial headway in restoring essential services.

Although daily routines can now return to normal, City Manager Richard Hardy emphasized that residents should stay alert and prioritize safety until the recovery process is fully completed.
